Born and raised in Nigeria, Akinwande Oshodi understands both the challenges and opportunities that shape the lives of young people across the country.

Basketball was more than a sport—it was a teacher. Through the game, he learned discipline, perseverance, teamwork, leadership, and the importance of believing in something greater than himself.

As he grew, he began to recognize a reality facing many young athletes: talent alone is not enough. Too often, young people lack access to quality coaching, mentorship, educational support, and the opportunities needed to reach their full potential.

Determined to make a difference, he founded Elevate Basketball Academy with a vision that extended far beyond the basketball court.

His goal was simple yet powerful: create an organization that uses basketball as a platform to develop confident leaders, responsible citizens, and future agents of positive change.

Today, Elevate Basketball Academy provides youth with access to athletic development, mentorship, leadership training, and community support programs designed to help them succeed in every area of life.

Through every clinic, every mentorship session, and every community initiative, Elevate Basketball Academy continues to prove that basketball can be more than a game—it can be a pathway to hope, growth, and transformation.
