About Us

Born and raised in Nigeria, Akinwande Oshodi understands both the challenges and opportunities that shape the lives of young people across the country. Basketball education was more than a sport for him—it was a teacher. Through the game, he learned discipline, perseverance, teamwork, leadership, and the importance of believing in something greater than himself. As he grew, he began to recognize a reality facing many young athletes: talent alone is not enough. Too often, young people lack access to quality coaching, mentorship, educational support, and the opportunities needed to reach their full potential. Determined to make a difference, he founded Elevate Basketball Academy with a vision that extended far beyond the basketball court. His goal was simple yet powerful: to create an organization that uses basketball as a platform to develop confident leaders and responsible citizens through youth basketball programs. Elevate Basketball Academy will continue to prove that basketball can be more than a game—it can be a pathway to hope, growth, and transformation.
